Sales & Marketing Manager
Purpose:
To develop integrated marketing campaigns that will support each of Steel
Eye's revenue streams and ensure that these groups meet their goals. Responsibilities:
Support Ad Sales, Partner Relations, Subscriptions and Corporate Sales through a constant
needs assessment with managers of each division and development of marketing/promotions
strategies for these groups.
- Direct Mail -- purchase lists, select internal segments of our customer base.
- Subscription benefits -- determine premiums for subscriptions and special on- and
off-line benefits programs for Steel Profiles Online subscribers.
- Advertising -- work closely with the Marketing/Communications Director and outside
agency to coordinate media campaigns, to include development of and purchase of print and
online advertising. Will also coordinate all barter advertising opportunities. Determine
house ads on Hoover's Online and how available inventory is used to promote the site and
subscriptions.
- Creative -- Supervises production of all marketing and sales-related materials and
determines creative concepts/strategies for all materials.
- Trade shows -- Supervises trade show functions, selects booth graphics, determines
special promotions at shows, literature distribution, etc.
Competencies:
- Familiarity with Internet marketing and Web-based technology a must.
- Experience with media planning, negotiating and buying.
- Experience with successfully developing and executing marketing plans for multiple
product lines.
- Cross-functional management experience.
- Strong analytical skills are necessary to evaluate effectiveness of programs.
- Innovative, with clear evidence of implementation/execution results.
- Leadership, team building and communication skills of a high order are required as is an
ability to make things happen in a multi-disciplined environment.
- A team player with outstanding initiative, integrity, enthusiasm and intellectual
capacity.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree with 3+ years of experience in marketing, strategy, business development or
sales for an Internet or media organization.
- Staff management experience.
- Trade show/event planning experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Budget experience, including expense planning, and cost-benefit analysis
